Anand is a heartwarming Indian drama film released in 2004. The film was directed by Sekhar Kammula and produced by Venkata Shyam Prasad. The lead actors of the film are Raja, Kamalinee Mukherjee and Anuj Gurwara. The movie is about Anand, a young boy who is diagnosed with congenital heart disease. Due to his physical condition, he is unable to live a normal life like other children of his age. However, he is full of life and positivity and tries to make the best of every moment. Anand lives in a small village in Andhra Pradesh with his mother and his younger sister. His mother works as a cook in a local school to support her family.

Anand's life changes when he meets Arvind, a street-smart guy who is the son of a coolie. At first, Arvind is not interested in Anand and makes fun of him. However, as he gets to know Anand better, Arvind realizes the kind of person he is and starts to appreciate him. The two of them become friends and spend a lot of time together.

As Anand's condition worsens, his mother is unable to afford his treatment. Arvind, along with a few of his friends, starts to raise funds for Anand's treatment. They organize a charity show and manage to collect a significant amount of money. The show is a huge success, and Anand is finally able to get the treatment he needs.

The film touches upon many themes, such as the bond between friends, the importance of family, and the power of positivity. It also questions the social inequalities prevalent in society and how they impact people's lives.

Raja has given an outstanding performance in the film as Anand. He brings a lot of nuance to his character and manages to capture the essence of being a child despite his physical condition. Kamalinee Mukherjee, as Anand's mother, shines in her role. She conveys the struggle of a single mother to provide for her family and the heartache of watching her child suffer. Anuj Gurwara, as Arvind, brings a lot of energy to the film. His character provides a much-needed contrast to Anand's innocence and naivety.

The film's direction by Sekhar Kammula is exceptional. He manages to create a world that is both realistic and magical. The film's cinematography is also noteworthy, with the scenery of Andhra Pradesh beautifully captured on camera.

The music by K. M. Radha Krishnan is another highlight of the film. The songs are soulful and add depth to the film's themes. The background score is also notable and sets the mood for the scenes perfectly.

Overall, Anand is a must-watch film for anyone who appreciates good storytelling and heartwarming performances. The film manages to balance emotion and sentimentality without ever becoming melodramatic. It is a film that will make you laugh, cry, and leave you with a feeling of hope.
