Watch American Fugitive: The Truth About Hassan

This 2007 documentary takes a look at David Belfield, also known as Dawud Salahuddin. Belfield is an African-American who converted to Islam and, in 1980, killed Iranian dissident Ali Akbar Tabatabai at the man's Maryland home. Filmmaker Jean-Daniel Lafond gives voice to Belfield's rationale for the assassination, and he also explores various conspiracy theories as to who gave the orders for the act.
