Lewis Hine is probably best known for his iconic photos taken during the construction of the Empire State Building in New York City. However, despite his popularity from taking photos of the iconic landmark in the making, Hine earned the respect of his peers thanks to a series of shoots in which he captured several photos that exposed the extremely harsh working conditions being faced by workers in factories. Prior to this photos, working conditions inside factories were only a thing of spoken word, and the world really had no idea just how bad they were. Hine became a well-respected legend thanks to his bravery.
