Alone is a Hindi-language horror film from 2015, directed by Bhushan Patel and produced by Kumar Mangat, Abhishek Pathak, Pradeep Aggarwal, and Prashant Sharma. The movie stars Bipasha Basu in a double role, opposite Karan Singh Grover. Sulabha Arya and Zakir Hussain are also part of the cast. The film is a remake of the 2007 Thai horror movie of the same name.
The plot revolves around Sanjana (Bipasha Basu) and her twin sister Anjana (Bipasha Basu again) who are conjoined twins. They share a strong bond, but their personalities are different. Sanjana is bold and outgoing, while Anjana is introverted and reserved. When Sanjana marries Kabir (Karan Singh Grover), a successful businessman, she moves to his ancestral home in a remote hill station in Kerala. Anjana refuses to leave her sister and follows her.
As Sanjana begins her new life with Kabir, she realizes that the house is haunted by a supernatural entity, and strange things start happening. She sees the ghost of Kabir's ex-girlfriend, who had died in a car accident, and feels a presence around her all the time. Meanwhile, Anjana begins to resent Kabir as she feels he is trying to separate her from her sister. The tension between the twins and Kabir increases, and they start having arguments.
Sanjana seeks the help of Dr. Aditya (Zakir Hussain), a renowned neurosurgeon, who suggests that the conjoined twins should be surgically separated. However, the surgery is risky, and Sanjana is not sure if she wants to go through with it. As the haunting continues, Sanjana discovers a dark secret about Kabir's past, which threatens to destroy their relationship. Anjana, on the other hand, becomes possessed by the ghost and starts behaving weirdly. Sanjana is torn between her love for Kabir and her loyalty to her sister. She must find a way to save herself and her loved ones from the evil spirit that has taken over their lives.
The film is a mix of horror, drama, and romance. The director has done a good job of building up the suspense and creating an eerie atmosphere. The cinematography is top-notch, and the visual effects are impressive. Bipasha Basu delivers a brilliant performance as the conjoined twins, and Karan Singh Grover is convincing as the husband caught in the middle of the supernatural drama. Sulabha Arya as the housekeeper adds a touch of comic relief to the otherwise dark narrative.
Overall, Alone is a decent horror film that will keep you engaged till the end. It has its fair share of jump scares and spine-chilling moments. The movie is not for the faint-hearted, as it contains graphic violence and disturbing themes. If you are a fan of the horror genre and are looking for a well-made Indian horror movie, then Alone is definitely worth a watch.
