All That We Destroy is a 2019 American horror movie that tells the story of a geneticist named Victoria, who creates simulations of her son's ex-girlfriends in a desperate attempt to stop his violent behavior. Starring Israel Broussard as her son, Spencer, Aurora Perrineau as one of the ex-girlfriends, Marissa, and Dora Madison as Jules, another one of Spencer's ex-girlfriends, this movie explores themes such as nature vs nurture, genetic engineering, and the consequences of human actions.

The movie begins with Victoria creating a clone of Marissa, whom Spencer had killed in a fit of rage. Through the simulation, she tries to teach Spencer empathy, kindness, and how to control his impulses. However, despite her best efforts, Spencer fails to learn anything from the simulation, and instead, he becomes more violent and aggressive. Victoria then creates another clone, Jules, hoping to find a solution to Spencer's problems.

Jules is a complicated character, and the audience never quite knows what to make of her. She's damaged, a little bit mysterious, but also very charming. Initially, Victoria asks her to spend time with Spencer, hoping that she can help him understand what is right and wrong. At first, it seems as though Jules and Spencer are developing a connection, but things quickly turn sour when Spencer realizes that Jules is not real, and that he's been spending time with a clone.

Throughout the movie, the theme of nature vs nurture is explored in a unique way. On the one hand, Victoria creates clones of her son's ex-girlfriends in an attempt to teach him how to be a better person. However, the clones are nothing like the original girls. They're perfect in every way, with no flaws or quirks. This raises the question: if we could engineer the perfect human being, would they still be human? Would they still have free will? Would they still make mistakes and learn from them?

The consequences of human actions are also explored in this movie. Victoria's creation of the clones has unintended consequences, not just for Spencer but for the girls whose likenesses she has used to create them. The clones are essentially trapped in a state of constant torture, forced to relive the worst moments of their lives again and again. It's a chilling depiction of what can happen when we play god with people's lives.

One of the most interesting aspects of this movie is its structure. Instead of a linear narrative, the movie is broken up into several segments, each focusing on a different clone. This allows the audience to see how each simulation affects Spencer in different ways. It's a refreshing take on the traditional horror movie structure, and it keeps the audience engaged throughout.

The acting in this movie is fantastic. Israel Broussard delivers a chilling performance as Spencer, a young man struggling with his own violent tendencies. Aurora Perrineau is fantastic as Marissa, a girl who has been wronged by Spencer but still wants to help him. Dora Madison is also excellent as Jules, a girl who is trapped in a maze of her own making.

The movie's direction is superb. Richard Shepard does an excellent job of creating a claustrophobic atmosphere, making the audience feel like they're trapped in the same house as the characters. The lighting and camera work are also excellent, with the use of shadows and darkness creating a sense of unease.

Overall, All That We Destroy is an excellent horror movie that explores themes that are both relevant and thought-provoking. The performances are excellent, the direction and cinematography are first-class, and the story is both engaging and terrifying. If you're a fan of horror movies or science fiction, then this is definitely a movie that you should check out.
