ALEXANDER THE GRAPE, an unfinished cut-paper animated short from Jim Henson from 1965, relates the fable of a young grape with big ambitions who learns that it is better to accept yourself than to try to be something you are not. The short was reconstructed from film and audio elements; images from Jim's storyboard fill in missing segments of the animation. Jim wrote the script and drew the storyboard, hired Billy Mure to compose the bouncy score, and professionally recorded the voice over. His school friend Robert Payne, who worked with Jim over many years, animated the action. This short is part of a larger collection of rare early films by one of the world's most beloved storytellers and puppeteers: Jim Henson.
Alexander the Grape is a 1965 short with a runtime of 4 minutes.
