Aks is a 2001 Indian psychological thriller film directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and starring Amitabh Bachchan, Raveena Tandon, and Manoj Bajpayee. The movie tells the story of a man who becomes the target of a series of murders after discovering a secret about his past. The movie begins with a police officer investigating a series of murders in which each victim has been killed by an arrow. The officer soon realizes that all the victims had some connection with a man named Manu Verma (Amitabh Bachchan). When the officer approaches Manu, he denies any involvement in the murders and tells him a story about his past.

The story goes back to Manu's college days when he was a bright and ambitious student. One day, he meets a mysterious man named Raghavan (Manoj Bajpayee) who claims to have known Manu's father. Raghavan tells Manu that his father was killed by a man named Amar (also played by Amitabh Bachchan) who is still alive and plotting to kill Manu. Raghavan urges Manu to seek revenge and kill Amar before he strikes.

Manu decides to investigate the matter and soon realizes that Raghavan is not what he seems. He discovers that Raghavan is a manifestation of his own dark side, and that he himself is responsible for the murders. The truth is revealed in a gripping climax as Manu confronts his own demons and tries to save himself and those around him from his own madness.

The film's storyline is a clever blend of fantasy and reality, with the theme of duality and the psychology of the protagonist being explored in great depth. The cinematography is bold and visually striking, contributing greatly to the film's overall effect.

The performances of the lead actors are both powerful and nuanced. Amitabh Bachchan delivers a tour-de-force performance as the protagonist, effortlessly capturing the complexities of his character. Manoj Bajpayee is equally impressive in his portrayal of the menacing and enigmatic Raghavan. Raveena Tandon, in a smaller but no less significant role, brings her own brand of intensity and gravitas to the film.

Overall, Aks is a must-watch for anyone who appreciates a good psychological thriller. The film's themes of identity, the human psyche and the battle between good and evil make it a riveting and thought-provoking cinematic experience.
