Adu is a Spanish film directed by Salvador Calvo, released in 2020. The film stars Satyajith and Ravi Padmarag in lead roles, along with a talented cast. The film takes place in Spain, Cameroon and Senegal, and tells three parallel stories that intersect in a dramatic and moving climax. The first story is about a group of African immigrants who try to cross the border from Morocco to Spain by hiding in the trunk of a car. Among them is Massar, a young boy who travels with his older brother Ali. The two boys have fled from their village in Cameroon after their parents were killed in a terrorist attack. During the journey, they meet a Spanish woman named Sandra, who is on a mission to uncover the truth about the African migrants who disappear on their way to Europe.

The second story focuses on a Spanish border guard named Mateo, who is dealing with his own personal problems. His marriage is falling apart, and he is struggling to connect with his own daughter, who is living with her mother in another city. Mateo is initially harsh with the African migrants he encounters on his job, but his perspective changes when he realizes the danger and hardship that they face every day.

The third story revolves around an older African man named Amadou, who lives with his granddaughter in a small village in Senegal. Amadou is deeply concerned about the future of Africa, and tries to make a difference by running a school for local children. His granddaughter, Adu, is a bright and inquisitive boy who dreams of becoming a doctor. However, their peaceful existence is threatened when a wild animal kills their livestock, and they are forced to leave their village in search of a new home.

As the three stories progress, they begin to intersect in unexpected ways. Sandra's investigation leads her to Cameroon, where she meets Ali and Massar's uncle, a powerful and corrupt government official. Mateo begins to question the morality of his job, and starts to see the African migrants as human beings with their own dreams and aspirations. Amadou and Adu's journey takes them to the border of Spain, where they encounter the other characters in the film.

Adu is a powerful and emotionally resonant film that explores themes of immigration, family, and social justice. It is a story about the human cost of border control and the sacrifices that people make in pursuit of a better life. With its stunning visuals, excellent performances, and thought-provoking narrative, Adu is a must-see film that will stay with you long after it's over.

Adu is a 1995 drama with a runtime of 2 hours and 25 minutes.
