Watch Adajya

Set in 1940 in the Assam region of northern India, this film tells the story of three strong widows and what their society has subjected them to. Reduced to leaving subservient lives after the deaths of their husbands, each of these strong women rebels in their own ways. The women all live under the household of a rich leader of Sattra, where they all have in-laws there as well. While one struggles to give her husband a proper burial, another of the women is betrayed by the keeper of her husband's estates. However it is the youngest and most beautiful of them all, Giribala, that shocks everyone with her rebellious ways.
