Ab Tak Chhappan is a 2004 crime thriller film directed by Shimit Amin and produced by Ram Gopal Varma. The film revolves around the life of Inspector Sadhu Agashe, a senior officer in the Mumbai police force who is known for his aggressive and unorthodox methods of dealing with the criminal underworld. The film stars Nana Patekar in the lead role of Inspector Agashe. Patekar delivers a brilliant portrayal of a cop who is torn between his loyalty to the police force and his conscience. Revathi plays the role of Inspector Kanchan, Agashe's colleague and love interest. Yashpal Sharma plays Francis, a notorious gangster who is the target of Agashe's mission to clean up the city.

The film opens with Agashe leading a team of police officers to arrest a group of dangerous gangsters. Agashe's aggressive tactics lead to a brutal encounter, where the criminals are killed in the crossfire. This sets the tone for the rest of the film, as Agashe is shown to be a no-nonsense cop who is willing to do whatever it takes to rid the city of crime.

As the film progresses, Agashe is given the task of taking down Francis, who is responsible for a string of violent crimes in the city. Agashe takes on the mission with his usual intensity, but the task proves to be more difficult than he imagined. As he gets closer to catching Francis, Agashe realizes that there are deeper forces at play, and that the line between good and evil is not as clear-cut as he had thought.

The film is a gritty and realistic portrayal of the Mumbai underworld, and the police officers who are tasked with keeping it in check. The film is shot in a dark, moody style that perfectly captures the atmosphere of the city's seedy underbelly. The performances of the lead actors are excellent, with Nana Patekar stealing the show with his intense portrayal of Inspector Agashe.

The film also explores themes of corruption within the police force, and the toll that it takes on the officers who have to deal with it on a daily basis. At one point in the film, Agashe is forced to make a difficult choice between his loyalty to the police force and his conscience, a decision that has far-reaching consequences.

Overall, Ab Tak Chhappan is an intense and gripping crime thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. It is a must-watch for fans of the genre, and a great introduction to the work of Nana Patekar, who delivers one of his best performances in this film.
