Aashiqui 2 is a romantic drama film directed by Mohit Suri, released in India in 2013. The movie tells the story of Rahul Jaykar (Aditya Roy Kapur), a famous singer whose success has led him to alcoholism and depression. One day, he meets Aarohi Keshav Shirke (Shraddha Kapoor), a young girl who dreams of becoming a singer like him, and who manages to inspire him back to life.

The film is a sequel to the 1990 movie Aashiqui. However, the plot of Aashiqui 2 is not a continuation of the earlier film, instead, it tells a completely different story with different characters, albeit still being a romantic musical drama. The Aashiqui 2 soundtrack is composed by Jeet Gannguli, Mithoon, and Ankit Tiwari, and the songs quickly became very popular.

The movie starts with Rahul, a successful rockstar, who is seen drinking and arguing with his manager after a concert. The manager announces that they will have to cut down on shows because Rahul's health has been affected by his addiction to alcohol. Rahul dismisses her words and continues to drink, realizing that his fame has become meaningless to him. At this point, the movie shifts to Aarohi, who lives in a small town in Maharashtra and lives with her mother and aunt.

Aarohi is a talented singer, and loves to perform at local music competitions. She dreams of becoming a famous singer one day, and is a big fan of Rahul. Determined, she travels to Mumbai along with her friend to audition for a music director who promises to get her an audition with Rahul. In a coffee shop, Rahul overhears Aarohi singing and is impressed by her voice. He offers her a song, but Aarohi rejects the offer as she believes that success should come to her through her own efforts.

The movie progresses as Rahul is unable to forget Aarohi and eventually tracks her down. He hears her perform on a stage in a bar, which leads him to realize her potential. Aarohi, in awe of Rahul, begins to take lessons from him, and as they spend more time together, their relationship grows stronger.

Things begin to change for the better as Rahul asks Aarohi to perform onstage with him, and she becomes a part of his band. The two quickly fall in love and start a relationship. Together, they rise up the music charts and become even more successful. However, Rahul's past addiction to alcohol and his growing frustration with the media and fame begin to cause cracks in their relationship.

As their relationship faces the test of time, will Rahul and Aarohi stay together? Will Rahul be able to overcome his addiction to alcohol and accept the love he has found with Aarohi? To find the answer to these questions, you'll have to watch Aashiqui 2 yourself.

In conclusion, Aashiqui 2 is a heartfelt musical drama that explores the power of love, music, and the struggles one goes through to achieve their dreams. The film is beautifully directed, with excellent performances by Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, which make it a must-watch for any romantic drama lover. The music in the movie is outstanding and will be sure to have you humming the songs long after the movie ends.
