To director Stanley Nelson, the town of Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts is more than just another seaside haven. This lovingly produced film captures his summers in the town, home to a population of upper middle class African-Americans and includes both historic footage of the city and his own family. Though deeply personal, the film also examines the roots of culture, safety and the sense of belonging in a society.
