If you are looking for a film that isn't predictable, then this indie nugget will satisfy. It shows edginess, and a family with a strange moral compass. It does not honey-coat the crazy behavior, but will give you something to think about. This dark story of a washed up boxer named Billy Morrisson, (played by McDonough), gives a peak into his journey to madness. Billy's downward spiral after experiencing tragedy, allows McDonough to give a convincing performance of a wounded child gone mad. The director/writer, Jeff Hare, exposes the crazy, yet convinces us to feel empathy.
This is not a stand up and cheer story; but a window that gives us a glimpse of a life not easy to watch, yet difficult to walk away from.
