Robert Harlan gets laid off from his job and decides to pursue what has been a lifelong dream for him: to become a writer. Using his wife's story as an inspiration for his characters, he gets his book published and is a success. However, other parts of his life are lacking. Harlan and his wife aren't getting along, and he rarely communicates with his best friend. Soon he gets an unwanted wake up call that could mean the difference between a fulfilled life and one full of regret.
