On board the luxurious cruise ship, the SS Poseidon, itâs Christmas season, and itâs a time for cheer and celebration. Everything seems to be running smoothly until the captain Marissa (Vivica A. Fox) receives a call that could unravel the trip for everyone on board. Marissa receives a call from her nephew who had just become a father, his wife had to undergo an emergency surgery, and so the new parents would not be able to make it for the family Christmas gathering. The couple has already decorated the tree and even ordered specially crafted Christmas cards, which would mostly go to waste without the family celebration. Marissa can't let this dampen her family's moods and decides to bring Christmas to the ship.
Meanwhile, Olivia (Jessica Morris) is a tour agent onboard the SS Poseidon, and she is doing her best to make the passengers feel welcomed and excited for the upcoming festive season. Although Olivia is opposed to the idea of having a last-minute Christmas celebration, she finally gets roped into it by a charming gentleman, Tony (Kristoff St. John), who is also on board to have a good time.
As the cruise ship sails through the crystal-clear blue waters, the crew readies the ship in every way possible, the passengers, with their bright smiles, are all geared up for a memorable Christmas at sea. An expert chef, who is hired to provide meals on board, ensures that the passengers are treated to a festive buffet of mouth-watering delicacies. Christmas tunes fill the air, and everyone seems to be having a good time.
As soon as the celebrations begin, so too do the challenges. With electrical faults, water leaks, and the uncertainty of the journey ahead, Marissa begins to feel like something is off. The crew members try their best to keep the passengers calm and comfortable, although tensions rise, and it appears that someone might be sabotaging the entire trip.
Marissa and Olivia get to the bottom of the situation by conducting a series of investigations, in their quest to find out who is behind the chaos. As it turns out, the trip is threatened by a member of the crew who is plotting against the ship, and the passengers are in great danger.
The climax comes when Marissa and her team work tirelessly to prevent disaster as they race against time to find the culprit before disaster strikes. The tensions build as the final showdown approaches, and everyone on board has to unite towards saving each other.
As the cruise trip ends, the passengers disembark, having shared a historical journey that had started on a sour note but ended on a high note. Many people onboard had found love, made friends, and learned new things about themselves along the way. Marissa and Olivia, now firm friends, also have something to take home from the trip as well- a newfound love, and a deeper appreciation for festive celebrations.
