6 Hours To Christmas is a Nigerian romantic comedy-drama film released in 2010. The film, directed and produced by Shirley Frimpong-Manso, is set in Lagos, Nigeria, and revolves around the lives of four adults as they experience various challenges leading up to Christmas. The movie begins with Lola (Damilola Adegbite), a successful businesswoman, who is desperate to spend Christmas with her family in Cape Town, South Africa. However, her flight is delayed, and she must endure a six-hour layover in Lagos. There, she meets Bola (Benny Ashun), an optimistic man who sees the good in everyone and everything, and the two strike up a conversation.

Meanwhile, Angela (Asamani Boateng), a young woman who has recently broken up with her boyfriend, struggles to come to terms with her failed relationship. She is comforted by Akin (Chris Attoh), a man haunted by his past but trying to move on.

As the four characters interact with each other, their lives become intertwined, and they each find themselves facing the difficult truths they've been trying to suppress. Lola grapples with the fact that she has been too focused on her career and has neglected her family, while Bola confronts the reality that his optimistic outlook on life may not always be enough to overcome life's obstacles.

At the same time, Angela and Akin explore their feelings for each other, despite their respective emotional baggage. Over the course of six hours, the characters not only learn more about themselves but also bond with each other in meaningful ways.

One of the strengths of 6 Hours To Christmas is its relatable storyline. The characters face problems that many people can identify with, such as struggling to balance work and family, dealing with the aftermath of a breakup, and learning to let go of past hurts. The film tackles these themes with sensitivity and nuance, resulting in a compelling, emotionally resonant narrative.

The performances in the movie are also noteworthy. Damilola Adegbite, in particular, shines as Lola, effortlessly conveying both the character's business savvy and vulnerability. Benny Ashun brings a warmth and kindness to Bola's character, making him the perfect foil to Lola's more no-nonsense demeanor. Chris Attoh and Asamani Boateng also offer impressive performances, imbuing their characters with a depth and complexity that elevates the film.

The movie's cinematography is also noteworthy, with director Shirley Frimpong-Manso capturing the bustling energy of Lagos with impressive finesse. From the colorful markets to the crowded airport, the film's setting is a character in itself, adding to the movie's overall charm.

Overall, 6 Hours To Christmas is a heartwarming, thoughtful movie that explores themes of love, family, and redemption. With strong performances and a relatable storyline, it's easy to get invested in the characters and their journeys. Whether you're a fan of romantic comedies or dramas, 6 Hours To Christmas is definitely worth checking out.
