Katherine Heigl stars in the romantic comedy "27 Dresses" as Jane, a woman who has been a bridesmaid to 27 weddings. The movie opens with Jane serving as a bridesmaid to her younger sister's wedding, where she meets Kevin Doyle (James Marsden), a writer for a newspaper who becomes intrigued by Jane's story. Over the course of the film, it becomes clear that Jane is deeply in love with her boss, George (Edward Burns), but is too afraid to make her feelings known. When George reveals that he's in love with Jane's sister, Tess (Malin Akerman), Jane is forced to confront her feelings and begin to move on.
While Jane struggles with her own romantic woes, Kevin ropes her into helping with a feature story on wedding trends. As they work together, Jane and Kevin develop a close friendship, but neither is quite ready to admit their feelings to the other.
As Jane navigates the ups and downs of love, the film is filled with hilarious moments as well as touching scenes between Jane and her closest confidante, her bossy-but-lovable friend Casey (Judy Greer).
Throughout the film, audiences are treated to a colorful cast of characters, including Jane's numerous bridesmaid cohorts, her eccentric and alcoholic boss (played by the incomparable Melora Hardin), and Kevin's girlfriend, who immediately dislikes Jane upon meeting her.
As the story unfolds, Jane must learn to be true to herself and her own desires, even if it means letting go of the expectations of others. With the help of Kevin and her own strength and determination, Jane begins to understand what it is that she really wants in life, and how to go about getting it.
"27 Dresses" is a charming and funny romantic comedy that will have you cheering for Jane from beginning to end. With a stellar cast and plenty of heart, this movie is a must-see for anyone who loves a good love story.
