In 2012: Doomsday, a group of scientists discovers that the Earth's core is rapidly heating up, which will cause a series of catastrophic events leading to the end of the world as we know it on December 21, 2012. As chaos ensues, they race against time to find a way to prevent the apocalypse and save humanity. The film follows the character of Joseph (Cliff De Young), a retired geologist who predicted the earth's impending doom but failed to convince his colleagues and the government to take action. Despite this, he refuses to give up and with the help of his daughter (Danae Nason), they make it their mission to find a way to save humanity before it's too late.
Meanwhile, in Washington D.C., the President (Dale Midkiff) is advised of the impending doom and orders the evacuation of major cities across the country. However, this does little to appease the public who are growing increasingly panicked and desperate for a solution.
As earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions wreak havoc across the globe, Joseph and his team frantically work to drill into the Earth's core to release the pressure that is causing the impending catastrophe. The team encounters various obstacles and setbacks along the way, including sabotage from a rival team of scientists who believe they have a better solution.
Amidst the chaos, various characters struggle to come to terms with their impending doom, including a young couple trying to flee the city and a family trying to reunite and survive.
Overall, 2012: Doomsday is an action-packed disaster movie that explores the consequences of humanity's disregard for the environment and the urgent need to take action before it's too late. The film features impressive special effects and a talented cast, including Cliff De Young, Dale Midkiff, Ami Dolenz and Danae Nason, and offers a thought-provoking commentary on our relationship with the planet.
2012: Doomsday is a 2008 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 25 minutes. It has received poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 1.7.
