101 Dalmatians is a live-action adaptation of the classic animated film from the 1960s. Starring Glenn Close as the infamous fashion designer Cruella de Vil, the movie follows the plot of the original story, but with some modern twists and additions. The film begins with the introduction of Pongo and Perdita, two Dalmatians who live with their owners, Roger and Anita. When Pongo spots Perdita during their morning walk, he falls in love with her and sets out to unite their owners. After a successful first date, Roger and Anita marry, and Pongo and Perdita become a happy family.

However, their happiness is short-lived when Cruella de Vil enters the picture. Cruella is a wealthy and successful fashion designer, known for her over-the-top and outrageous designs. When she discovers that Anita is also a designer, she invites her to her mansion to discuss business. During the meeting, Cruella becomes fixated on Perdita's litter of puppies and offers to buy them, much to the horror of Pongo and Perdita.

When Roger and Anita decline Cruella's offer, she becomes obsessed with obtaining the puppies and will stop at nothing to get them. What follows is a fast-paced and action-packed adventure as Pongo and Perdita try to protect their puppies from the evil Cruella and her bumbling henchmen.

One of the highlights of the film is Glenn Close's performance as Cruella de Vil. She brings a perfect blend of camp and menace to the role, making Cruella both hilariously funny and genuinely terrifying. Her over-the-top wardrobe and bold makeup choices also add to the character's flamboyance.

Jeff Daniels and Joely Richardson do a great job as Roger and Anita, respectively. They portray the loving couple with charm and sincerity, and their on-screen chemistry adds to the movie's heartwarming moments.

In addition to the excellent performances, the movie also boasts some impressive visual effects. The scenes with the puppies interacting with each other and their surroundings are believable and cute, making them a highlight of the film for younger viewers.

Another standout aspect of the movie is its score, which features a mix of original compositions and classic Disney songs. The music adds to the film's charm and helps elevate some of the more emotional moments.

Overall, 101 Dalmatians is an enjoyable family film that offers plenty of laughs and suspense. Its vibrant colors, charming characters, and memorable performances make it a memorable adaptation of the beloved animated classic.

101 Dalmatians is a 1996 kids & family movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 43 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.7 and a MetaScore of 49.
