TVB, which is alternately known as Television Broadcasts Limited, is one of Hong Kong's premiere television networks. Having been in operation since 1967, it is Hong Kong's first wireless network and offers a variety of programming for Hong Kong viewers. TVB is available in more than just Hong Kong however. Their programming can be offered to individuals in mainland China, in Macau, in Great Britain, and even in the United States among other areas.
TVB has a lot of unique programming choices for their viewers. Among the options include a show entitled "Untraceable Evidence" which was a crime drama that debuted in 1997 and was similar to the United States drama CSI. "Enjoy Yourself Tonight" was a variety show that ran from 1967-1994 and followed a pattern similar to the Saturday Night Live programming in the United States. There was also a series called "Armed Reaction" which touched on the discrimination that women face in the law enforcement industry.
TVB has also aired several live events, including a litany of equestrian events in the 2008 Olymprics. They also were able to air the 48th Miss International Beauty Pageant as well. If that weren't enough TVB was instrumental in organizing the first ever Miss Hong Kong Beauty Pageant. TVB has contributed much to people's lives by their quality programming and we will continue to see unique, out-of-the-box offerings from them for many years to come.
