Sprout is an American based digital cable and satellite television channel. The channel is owned and operated by NBC Universal and its subsidiaries. Sprout replaced PBS Kids for a few of the cable and satellite companies throughout the United States. The Network also offers a video on demand service that features a large variety of programming geared towards young children. Sprout acquired many of their shows from the Public Broadcasting Service most commonly known as PBS. The channel also offers many original programs that are shown exclusively on the Sprout channel.
