Screen Media Films works in finding independent films in the US and Canada,, and produce them in high quality to the public. One of their latest features is Jake Paltrow's "Young Ones" with Michael Shannon as the star lead along with Nicholas Hoult and Elle Fanning. Another very famous feature released was "About Alex" with Aubrey Plaza as the star lead along with Max Greenfield and Maggie Grace.
Screen Media Films is involved in the theatrical releases as well. They produced and released the recent festival best "The Lifeguard" with Kristen Bell, "A Birder's Guide" with Ben Kingsley.
Although Screen Media films is focused on independent movies, they are very experienced in studio type releases and have access to major independent movie theaters that sell out tickets on independent movies all the time. For some people independent movies are non-existent and they only watch hollywood made studio movies, but in reality independent movies have as big of a following as studio movies, but don't focus as much on the extra profits that can be made off a movie by creating toys and figures but instead focus on the movie itself and how much hype it can produce just by being seen in theaters.
By acquiring the rights to various independent projects and fitting them for a better release, Screen Media Films grows the amount of directors out there that produce great work but can't afford a studio budget to release. Many movies end up on big screens worldwide after being discovered as independent works.
