Scrawl Studios is a new production company that as founded in 2005 by two students at the University of New York in New York City. The company is now based in Washington, D.C. It is an international media company that features digital media and written content on its website. Television shows and films can be downloaded or viewed live by streaming them or a monthly fee. The channel was originally meant to be a technology company that produced film lenses but the founders realized that a lack of coverage on political events in the United States provided a market opportunity to deliver quality programs to viewers throughout North America.
In 2010, the company expanded and began offering content to Europe and Asia via online platforms and licensed content from larger corporations like Disney and Turner in order to saturate existing markets. Now, the most popular shows on the channel are Finding the Truth and Monument to Justice. Both shows are political in nature. For example, Finding the Truth features numerous interviews with famous politicians as they attempt to uncover the inner workings of the government system in Washington. The show attempts to take an objective view on the issues at hand. Monument to Justice interviews judges and attorneys that work in various court settings throughout the United States in an attempt to understand the reasons that certain cases remain in circuit courts while others go on to reach the supreme court circuits. In 2013, the channel announced that it planned to extend both shows.
