The Saban Channel is an American-Israeli station that was created in 1983 by Haim Saban and Shuki Levy. Originally it was known as Saban Productions.
This corporation is known for dubbing several Japanese series such as Maple Town, Samurai Pizza Cats, as well as Dragon Ball Z.
Saban also adapted several series such Power Rangers, which is known worldwide. Saban has also made a name for itself in the animation industry. Additionally this mega corporation has been the source for music in many televisual programs to include Inspector Gadget and The Super Mario Brothers Super Show.
On an international level, Saban teamed up with Jean Chalopin, DIC Entertainment. Some of their earliest productions were Jayce and The Wheeled Warriors.
Eventually in 1996, Saban was able to acquire Marvel Entertainment and then continued to develop characters for such hits as Captain America. They continued to run new series for over seven years. In 1996, Saban Entertainment merged with Fox Productions to create Fox Kids Worldwide. In 2002, Saban became part of Disney Productions.
In 2010, Haim Saban purchased the Power Ranger empire from Disney for a whopping $43 million dollars.
