Founded in 2010 by Mr. Paull Cho and Ms. Heather Rae, Prominent Pictures is an independent film and media company based in Los Angeles, CA. The company’s focus is on independent films with budgets not exceeding $10 million United States dollars.
Prominent is represented by William Morris Endeavor Global (WME), a talent and literary agency with offices in Beverly Hills, New York City, and London. WME also represents Mr. Cho independent of Prominent Pictures while United Talent Agency (UTA), also a talent and literary company, represents Ms. Rae.
Both Mr. Cho and Ms. Rae are producers and actors and have been active in the independent film scene since before founding Prominent Pictures.
As of 2010, Prominent Pictures teamed up with Crescent Financial Partners, an L.A.-based merchant bank interested in partnering with the independent film company to produce a slate of films between the ranges of $2M-$10M. Crescent Financial Partners managing director Russell Armstrong gave a positive outlook on the joint venture, stating that he believed Prominent Pictures’ new crop of movies could potentially rival the success of Heather Rae’s own production, Frozen River.
With such features as Magic Valley (2011), Ass Backwards (2013), and the currently in-progress work, The Moor, Prominent Pictures continues to make headway into the movie industry and the Hollywood culture.
