Nick Junior is an American TV channel. It airs shows for young children aged 2 to 6 yeast old. Nick Jr. was originally known as Noggin, but was rebranded a few years into its launch and has since been widely successful amongst young viewers.
Nick Junior was initially launched in 1999 as Noggin and was aimed at young kids as well as pre-teens. It aired popular shows such as the 'Phred On Your Head Show' but suffered low ratings due to its similarity with its parent channel Nickolodeon. As a result, Noggin was renamed to Nick Jr. and was exclusively aimed at preschoolers in 2009.
Today, Nick Jr. is one of the most popular networks for toddlers and preschoolers as well as their parents. True to its slogan, Nick: The Smart Place To Play, Nick Jr. is both entertaining and educational for young kids. Nick Junior airs some of the most popular television shows in the world, such as iCarly, The Fairly Odd Parents, and SpongeBob SquarePants. This careful selection of shows to air has resulted in Nick Jr. becoming one of the most watched channels in American households today, with over two thirds of all households in the United States having paid access to the network.
