New Media Group is a distributor of independent films for theater, DVD, on demand, and Blu-Ray release. It is the largest digital distributor in the world. Its streaming distribution represents more than 10,000 hours of viewing. Media Group television and film distribution includes availability on some of the leading streaming and subscription channels, such as Hulu, iTunes, and Netflix. New Media Group prior to 2012 distributed television and movies for the A&E Home Entertainment Network.
New Video works with networks, independent film, and producers to distribute media in digital format. They also distribute films for leading movie producers, such as Tribeca Films, Arthouse Films, and Plexifilm. They have distributed Oscar nominees, such as “Hell and Back Again,” released in theaters, and “Gasland,” for DVD release. Other distributions include the Sundance Film Festival official selections, “Bobby Fischer Against the World,” “The Last Mountain,” and “Hot Coffee.” Hot Coffee was also one of the winners of the Seattle International Film Festival.
New Video has also distributed Chinese Language films across North America through multiple marketing channels. Distribution divisions of New Media Group include Docurama Films, and Flatiron Film Company. Docurama Films distributes films to DVD, and theater, and have included such films as “The Weather Underground,” “Southern Comfort,” and “The Atomic Cafe.” Flatiron distributes next generation indie, foreign films, and web originals, such as web series “The Guild,” and “Red verses Blue,” as well as “Elite Squad: The Enemy Within,” and “The Secret of Kells.” New Video is currently owned by Cindedigm.
