Founded in 1984 by former lead singer of Hellion, Ann Boleyn, New Renaissance Records is an American record label company. After Hellion had a number six record on the British Music Charts, Boleyn was faced with an important dilemma - she was unable to find an American record deal. Thus, New Renaissance Records was birthed. To fund her new comany, Boleyn sold her car and musical instruments. This money would help her record Wehrmacht, Artillery, at War, Flotsam and Jetsam, Morbid, Savage Grace, and others. This humble beginning proved to be well worth the effort in the following years.
Since then, groups that have signed with New Renaissance Records have included Chyld, Sepultura, Morbid Angel, Rock City Angels, IronChrist, King Kobra, and many others. Other acts have included Holocross, Dream Death, Blood Feast, Cerebus, Deadly Blessing, Amulance, Post Mortem, Medieval, Prong, Indestroy, Mayhem, Screamer, and many others.
Though the founder Ann Boylen has taken time away from the music industry to study law (she obtained her law degree in 2007), New Renaissance Records has still managed to maintain a catalogue of over thirty titles distributed throughout all over the world. The group, "At War" have even recorded another album entitled, "Infidel", which was released in 2009. The album received critical acclaim and since then, other albums "Ordered to Kill" and "Retaliatory Strike" have since been released.
Finally, Hellion released an album in 2014 for the first time in over ten years. This two-disc anthology, is entitled "To Hellion and Back"
