Lux Vide S.p.A. is an Italian television and film production company formed in 1992. The company was founded by Ettori Bernabei and group of other Italian businessmen known as the Fund Foundation. The foundations interests were later sold to the Vedio Delta family, Caporale. These shares were sold in 2008 to International Entertainment. This would leave the current ownership of the company with Intesa Sanpolio as the majority stockholder and the Bernabei family and Tarak Ben Ammar dividing the remainder.
The company produces television film dramas based on stories from the Bible. Most of them are part of its ongoing Stories of the Bible series. This series was produced in cooperation with other international companies including RaiUno of Italy, Taurus Film of Germany, Fifth of France and Turner Pictures from the United States. Early episodes were based on different books of the Bible. Later shows featured the stories of the saints, the friends of Jesus, The Roman Empire, and the Catholic Church in the 20th century.
They also produce mainstream television dramas and a children’s cartoon series based on the works of Jules Verne. In recent years the company has begun to branch out into Cinema releases. Their first theater release came in 2013 with White As Milk, Red As Blood. They are one of the largest producers of films for RaiUno, where Bernabei once held the position of Director General.
