Lego is the producer of animated series Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, Legends of Chima, Mixels, and Lego friends, which appear on the Cartoon Network. The series correlated with the Lego building blocks releases. Ninjago correlated with a Ninja themed set, an animal themed set correlated with Legends of Chima, and Mixels also corresponded with a toy release.
The animated series Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu is based on the adventures of Ninjago, and his friends, Lloyd, Cole, Kai, Jay, and Zane as they try to save the world. Legends of Chima, is based on a completely different concept than the Nijago series. Viewers enter a mystical world, where animals have the ability to walk, talk, and do all the things humans normally do. They drive cars, live in mansions and castles, and use machines. Viewers learn things of the world around them as they follow these magical characters into a world that once was perfect, but has now become a battleground of friends and neighbors. Lego Friends is a lighthearted series in which friends go on adventures.
Lego also produces Lego Club TV, which highlights some of the best Lego creations, and how to build them. They produce the web series “Microsquare,” as well as a number of webisodes on their websites and social media video sites. Lego animated motion pictures have also been produced, such as “The Lego Movie” which was a mix of old and new Lego characters. The rights to the movie based on the Hero Factory was purchased by Universal Studios.
