Koch Entertainment Distribution was an entertainment company that provided for television, film, and music distribution. However, the company was purchased by Entertainment One in 2005 and now operates under that name.
Koch made a name for itself when it became one of the first independent record labels to release music in the United States. It started on this journey in 1991, which was well ahead of the curve on this, and helped to earn it a lot of a notice and appreciation. Those who were trying to learn about new types of music but did not have access to them were suddenly able to discover those types of music by just listening to what this company was providing to them.
By 1992, Koch had already made it onto the Inc. Magazine list of the 500 fastest growing private companies. Following this success, the company expanded into the Canadian market in 1995. It was quickly able to move into and dominate a lot of the markets that is wanted to because of its unique blend of media. What Koch did that was so different from what other record labels were doing was simply to be different. They wanted to offer their audience something unique, and they held to that.
When the company was eventually bought by Entertainment One, it was a deal that grabbed an $80 million price tag for Koch Entertainment. All of that for the hard work that the people behind the scenes had put into the company. They simply realized that it was the culmination of all of that effort.
