Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) was fully established in 1973 and KBS headquarters is located in the Yoido district of Seoul. KBS is a pioneer in broadcasting and in 1961, while under the name Seoul TV Broadcasting Station, was the first company to offer television broadcast service in Korea. They are also well known for having been the first to radio broadcast.
In 1926, their original founding name was Kyeongseong Broadcasting Corporation. Then, KBS (JODK) radio broadcast service began broadcasting in 1927, and currently broadcasts from 18 regional stations. With eight subsidiary companies and 11 overseas bureaus, KBS provides multi-channel broadcast programming.
KBS offers a wide variety of family programming and local news. KBS World delivers the programming that is offered by KBS, the dates and times for specific programs and events. Family programs like, “You Are the Only One”, bring something unique to the viewers. In this particular program family values are felt deeply as a multi-family lives in a single home and touches upon their different backgrounds. Single people with varying ages sharing a home and redefining the meaning of family, as they become each other’s family.
