Infinity Productions, or IP, is a theater group centered around the community of Bayview/Hunters Point in San Francisco, California.
This production company was founded in 1995 by a group of people under the local playwright of Mary L. Booker. Overseeing the foundation were the producers of Booker's plays, Reverend Calvin Jones Jr., and Richard Warren. IP was organized under the Fellowship Urban Outreach program which allowed it to become a project of The Tides Center. However, after a few years, the group decided to shift the project over to the Bayview Opera House Ruth Williams Memorial Theatre in 1999. Together, their dedication and commitment established the foundation of the organization which would bring about growth and opportunity for all aspiring artists.
The mission of Infinity Productions is to bring together all generations of African Americans to nurture and foster the growth of cultural appreciation through the arts. By combining music, dance and drama, IP hopes to advance the development of creative expression that will ultimately stimulate mental, spiritual, social, and physical success to the performer and the audience alike.
The ultimate goal of Infinity Productions is to provide an infinite amount of resources, including a stage for blossoming artists to practice their talent, to be self-sustaining, well organized, and committed to the advancement and preservation of the African American heritage and culture through the performing arts.
