Henson Associates is a digital media company based in Hong Kong. The company was originally founded in 1998 by a supervisor to the production company called MiMi. Eventually, Howard Chang decided to run his own company in a way that would allow it to broadcast live events surrounding the business world around the globe. The channel focuses on analyzing stocks, interviewing analysts, and creating narratives around political climates in certain countries in order to cater to their target market.
Chang began the channel by filming his own trading habits in his bedroom of his studio apartment in downtown Hong Kong. When he began to share his video with his friends, the word spread fast and soon he realized that his idea was worth investing more time and money in. In 2008, HBCIS bought the rights to the channel and has since worked deals with Disney in order to distribute the content in the United States.
Viewers can access the content online by paying a monthly subscription fee. Examples of the most popular shows on the channel include Trader's World and Investor Weekly. Investor Weekly focuses on providing a summary of the previous week's financial events while predicting the coming weeks and months for the viewers. It is designed to provide investors with an alternate viewpoint. Trader's World is focused on more in-depth content and focuses on writing engaging material that doesn't rely on current market conditions.
