Digital Broadcasting Group is a digital media channel based in California that focuses on producing content for an international audience. It features shows and music in varying genres from drama to news to comedy. The channel began in 2000 when a young producer by the name of Robert Johnson met with Cindy Reynolds and formed a production team. The first show on the channel was called Collar Lock. It was about a dog who was rescued from a shelter by a mysterious gentleman. In 2008 the company was sold to Time Warner and began producing new shows.
Users can view the content by downloading it or streaming it. Alternately, some cable packages carry Digital Broadcasting Group as a channel. Current shows on the channel include a variety of sports, comedy, and drama programs. A popular show is called Drama in the Hood. It features a young rapper by the name of Big Mike. He lives in a poor area of town but he pretends to be rich. Often times, he doesn't pay his rent or support his child's needs but he spends a lot of money on fancy jewelry to impress women. It is a comedy show and is intended to satirize certain rappers in the media.
Another show currently airing is called CA Today. It is centered around providing current news about people and events in Southern California. It is hosted by Mary Shultz and began appearing on Digital Broadcasting Group in early 2013. It is slated to continue through 2015.
