Callan Productions Corporation is a Canadian broadcasting company based in Vancouver. The company was started in 2010 when media mogul Sean Levine saw an opportunity to bring more shows to the public that involved outdoor activities. Originally, the production company began featuring content that consisted of following fisherman around in their boat in an attempt to capture the real life of an outdoors enthusiast.
After trying that, the channel shifted to more digital media opportunities. However, the offerings still focus around the outdoors, with programs that provide in-depth documentaries about hunters, fisherman, and lumberjacks.
The channel's content is available through a number of cable packages in Canada, though international access is not allowed at the moment. However, using the internet, one can access a variety of the programs on the website.
Shows include titles such as Jon Hardy Shows You to Fish, The Haynes Brothers, and Lumber Heroes.
Lumber Heroes features three young men on their journey into the Canadian wilderness. During the 3 month job, they must fight extreme cold, dangerous wild animals, and the frustration of being away from their friends and family. None of the show is scripted, although the participants are compensated financially for their appearance on screen.
The Haynes Brothers is an episodic series that chronicles the daily events of two hyper brothers who get into trouble on a regular basis. Through fighting, fishing, and loving, the audience is provided with a unique glimpse into the lives of country-dwellers in central Canada's most harsh terrain.
