Billios Inc. is an American news and television channel based in Tampa Bay, Florida. The company is owned by Big Media International. The media channel originally started when Henry Storm, a radio broadcaster, went on a fishing trip. When he failed to catch a Florida Marlin, he realized that he wasn't accomplishing all of the things he wanted in life, and switched his focus in order to capitalize on media opportunities in the growing Florida market. In 1997, he sold the company.
Since then, the media channel has grown to provide a range of quality programming. Shows include: Florida Tonight, Tampa Catches, Wind and Smoke, Larry's Comedy Hour, CDE Sports, and more. The news segments are broadcast locally, but the television shows are broadcast nationally.
The episodic series that Billios produces inclues shows like Roses are Forever, Survivor's Guilt, and Anthony Goes to Atlanta.
The company now serves more than 300,000 viewers on a nightly basis, and recently formed partnerships with larger companies such as Walt Disney. The local Disney World park now features sponsorships from Billios in the form of cups, plats, and banners across the entrance into "Wooded Willows Park."
The media channel has announced plans to move into the digital space by providing content online in streaming and download format, as well as original programming access from apple products like the iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Users can access the channel with a Comcast cable subscription, Time Warner Ultra Package, or with an online premium Billios account.
