A La Carte Communications is America’s leading producer of television cooking shows. It was founded in 1990 by Nat Katzman and Geoffrey Drummond. Nat served as CEO of the company and Geoffrey as President of the company.
Nat and Geoffrey have been careful to produce shows that respect the intelligence of the viewer. The audience’s needs and expectations are very important to them. High quality programming has also been a priority.
A La Carte has won many awards. Some of them are for having a Daytime Emmy Award Outstanding Service Series, James Beard Award Best Television Cooking Show National, and Daytime Emmy Award Outstanding Host of a Series.
Some of the shows that are of interest are Daisy Cooks , with Daisy Martinez on Public Television.; Martin Yan’s China; Joanne Weir’s cooking class; America’s Test Kitchen; and Julia and Jaques cooking at home.
One of the shows that is noteworthy that they have produced is The Frugal Gourmet. It had 6 million weekly viewers. They have won four National Emmy Awards with shows starring TV chef Julia Child. In addition they have cookbooks, home videos and DVDs from the cooking series available in the ALC store.
