Steve Martin Makes Sure Alec Baldwin Breaks 'SNL' Record Cleanly

Steve Martin Makes Sure Alec Baldwin Breaks 'SNL' Record Cleanly Alec Baldwin couldn't have thought a record would fall easily.

Yet, there it was, right at the "30 Rock" star's feet Saturday night: his 16th gig hosting "Saturday Night Live," eclipsing the all-time hosting mark set by "SNL" alum, modern-day Vaudevillian and all-around cool guy Steve Martin. And it was fitting, actually. The two co-starred in the rom-com for the middle-aged "It's Complicated." Also, both have previously hosted The Academy Awards.

Still, Martin just couldn't let it slide. He had to know that Baldwin, for all his quips minutes earlier gloating about passing Martin's mark and about Ben & Jerry's paying tribute to Baldwin's most famous "SNL" moment with the ice cream brand's tribute "Schweddy Balls" confection, was taking his place without the aid of any potential comedic performance enhancers.

And because such tests must be administered by drug experts, he brought along the co-star of the upcoming dark comedy "50/50" and previous star of "Pineapple Express," Seth Rogen.

Did Baldwin pass his on-the-spot pee test? Did Martin's appearance during Baldwin's monologue actually keep the record tied? Did the world actually witness a talent nobody knew Martin possessed?

There's only one guaranteed way to know: watch the video.
