Playing the young Mozart, Ricky starts to feel the first blossoming of love when he meets his charming co-star, Heidi Glockenspiel, a young Austrian girl brought in to lend authenticity to the film. Like any love struck young boy, Ricky's not quite himself causing friends and family to rally together to offer their best advice on how to deal with this new emotion. Before he has a chance to put their words into practice, Heidi is on her way back to Austria and Ricky is left to mend his broken heart. Morris, Benny and Jamal open up a lemonade stand with the best tasting lemonade in the world (thanks to Morris' revolutionary juicing machine). Problem is, sales are in the toilet. Ricky offers to help raise the profile, but the kids resist. They want to do something on their own merit and fear it will become another Ricky thing. So Ricky tries to help incognito, but his disguise is discovered and pretty soon, business is booming for "Ricky" lemonade and, as they feared, the boys are starting to feel left out. Now it's up to Ricky to prove to them that it's not him but their delicious lemonade that's making the business a success.

But when Burke's "persona" starts to show what kind of person he really is, the boys see that Leonard, though maybe not the coolest and most sophisticated guy, is the best dad around.Fischburger is shocked when his latest movie bombs. His gut said it would be a big hit, but his gut was wrong! Reluctantly, he resorts to using test audiences to help guide his decisions. Along with Fischburger, they decide to stage a ruse - get his real family out of town and hire a bunch of actors to play them. Seems easy enough, but the fake family is not what Ricky expected and ends up embarrassing him more than his real family ever would have. Ricky comes clean on live TV and learns an important lesson - although they're not perfect, he's happy having his family exactly as they are.Excited about filming his latest movie about a sea creature, Ricky is irked when his teacher, Mr. Paget, dismisses the possibility of any such thing existing and sets out to prove him wrong. With Benny, Morris and Jamal, the four embark on an adventure in the movie's high-tech mini sub to do exactly that. Incredibly, they are able to capture a gruesome monster on camera. The boys make it back safe and relish revealing their discovery to the media and their teacher - until longtime Fischburger competitor Larry Knish, bursts their bubble by revealing it is only a prop from his latest movie. But Ricky isn't ready to back down just yet and plans one last little gag to show Paget that the possibility of a sea creature might still be lurking...

In an attempt to fill his time he takes on odd jobs with the neighbors only to find that his business has become a huge concern and his summer off turns out to be anything but.Ricky and Kitten's competitive spirit gets the better of them and they end up volunteering to be part of the hit new game show "Relative Discomfort" which pits family against family in Fear Factor-like challenges. It's the Sprockets versus the Kaboodles, but Kitten's family has a ringer on her team and Ricky's family are not exactly the "athletic" type. It all seems to be going horribly for Ricky until he realizes that winning might not be the most important thing after all.

He insists on answering every letter but when it starts to get in the way of Studio business, Fischburger insists he hires help. Kitten sees this as a fantastic opportunity. In disguise, she manages to get the job and sabotage us fan base. Ricky takes a critic's words about his teeth to heart and fixates on them, worrying obsessively. When he finds out a giant image of himself will be on a float for the Hollywood Easter Parade, he and his friends devise a plan to disguise the gaps in his teeth as the float parades by them. Kitten has other plans and the giant float ends up becoming un-tethered resulting in the boys going on the ride of their lives!

Ricky's sister, Ethel, becomes an unlikely star when she fills in for Kitten during one of Ricky's movies. Suddenly there are two Sprocket stars as the world goes crazy over the "˜whatever girl'. Kitten is less than pleased by her new rival and so she convinces Ricky to form an unlikely alliance in order to dethrone Hollywood's newest darling. It isn't long before order is restored in the world of child stars and Ethel is content to be back to being a normal kid again. She made her brother squirm for awhile and that in itself was worth it.While at a charity event, Ricky is called to the stage by Harry the Hypnotist. Harry hypnotizes Ricky to act like a dog whenever he hears the word "Action". When the hypnosis doesn't wear off, it starts impacting on his life and career and so Ricky has to track Harry down in order to get it reversed.

Meanwhile, a kid dressed as Ricky for Halloween shows up at Ricky's house where he is accidentally taken in by Leonard. When Ricky eventually returns, Leonard is totally confused and has to figure out which one is the real Ricky.Ricky and Kitten travel with their mothers to Transylvania where they are shooting a vampire movie on location in a real castle. Ricky is thrilled to be co-starring with his movie actor hero Vincent Gravely, that is, until Ricky becomes convinced that his co-star is actually a real vampire.

When Fischburger threatens to fire Ricky for falling asleep on set, Ricky enlists his friends to help him stay away from the book and sleep the night through.

Ricky gets Fischburger's permission to invite Benny to the set where he's shooting a "˜Land of the Giants' type movie with huge, oversized props and furniture. When Jamal and Morris show up, then a stream of other boys, they create a huge mess and Ricky and his friends have to bring things back to normal before the crew shows up for filming in the morning. They use the huge vacuum that's part of the set, but lose control of it and it breaks out of the studio and threatens to engulf Hollywood. Ricky is tired of the inane, shallow movies he's been making and decides to write and direct his own project. Something meaningful. So he enlists his friends and family, and of course Kitten insists on a role, but making his own movie turns out to be a lot harder than he imagined.

Ricky and his friends hear a rumor about Fischburger's cryogenically frozen pet bunny so they set out to discover if it's true. They sneak into the studio basement where Benny accidentally breaks the freezing machine. Ricky has to find a way to keep the bunny frozen and hide the accident until Morris can find a way to repair the machine. Problem is, Ethel has found the frozen bunny and has brought it to school for show and tell.

When parts dry up for Ricky, he decides to disguise himself as a girl to get a big role. In order to train for the part, he shows up at school as the new girl, fooling even his best friends. His double is a small Frenchman named Jacques Dangerous who takes his double work a little too far, offering to help Ricky out in real life situations as well. Next thing you know, Ricky has him doing his housework and eating his vegetables. Eventually, Ricky is caught out and has to own up to the truth. Ricky co-stars with Chico the talking Monkey who, after seeing Ricky with his family, gets homesick and decides to give up Hollywood and moves back to the jungle - but in the middle of production! Ricky then has to travel to the Amazon to convince the monkey to return.

When Ricky auditions for the school musical and fails, he learns the truth about his inability to sing. Unknown to Ricky his movie musical had been redubbed with a professional singer. In an attempt to redeem himself he turns to Crispin Armstrong-Trott, who teaches him a number from The Pirate Prince from ol' Tyne Tees. His performance is an embarrassing spectacle, while Kitten's performance is akin to a overblown teen idol show.. Kitten's hip hop rap number makes fun of Ricky, but Ricky comes back on and turns the show into a "rap-off".Ricky is shooting "Attack of the mega-Merm-oids", but it turns out that he is a terrible swimmer and this is putting the movie in jeopardy. Mr. Fischburger hires a Heinrich Svenson, swim teacher to the stars, but the challenge is too great and he quits. Fischburger has to cover up Ricky's poor swimming, but Kitten has plans to sabotage the movie's press conference by revealing Ricky as a fake.

Ricky is shooting a cop flick which features a real life lie detector. His curiosity is piqued and so he decides to bring the lie-detector home from the set to try it out on his family and friends. He soon discovers that everyone around him is not always totally honest and so he vows to always tell the truth, but this ends up upsetting almost everyone.Ricky manages to secure the hit band The Screaming Kiwi's to entertain at the school's upcoming fund-raiser/auction. While searching for auction items Ethel and Ricky are horrified to discover that Leonard was in 80's glam band 'Leonard Sprocket and the Rockets from Jupiter'. When the 'Kiwi's' fall through at the last minute, Leonard's band gets the gig - much to Ricky's horror.

Ricky celebrates the opening of his fantastic new amusement park, Ricky World, but when Kitten hears about it she is apoplectic. How dare Ricky have an amusement park and not her! In no time, Kitten Land is open right across the road and Kitten is doing everything she can to drive Ricky World out of business. A massive battle of amusement parks ensues with wild results. Ricky goes to "bring your kid to work day" with Leonard. Ricky is a big hit at the sausage plant, but not with the health inspector when Ricky accidentally gets sucked into the poultry reprocessing machine and comes out as a sausage. The health inspector promptly closes the plant down indicating too high a proportion of child star in the sausage. Ricky is left to help his dad find a new job and so Leonard unwittingly becomes deputy head of Wishworks Studios - with disastrous results.

He agrees, but only if the sales go to charity - The Nose Pickers Association. So it's all in a good cause, but when one of Ricky's cherished possessions is accidentally sold to an obsessive Ricky Super-Fan, he and his friends have to find a way to get it back.

Ricky is shocked when he learns that he has to deal with his first screen kiss. As if that isn't bad enough, it's with Kitten!!! Ugh! Ricky enlists the services of his friends to help train him up, but despite their bravado, they have little to offer. Ricky's mom thinks it's time his father had 'the' talk with Ricky, but it goes badly. In the end, Ricky has another idea. Ricky gets a role as the real life boy-king of the remote Polynesian island of Winki Winki. In order to research the role, he and the family travel to the island so Ricky can research the role. Things don't go as planned as Ethel becomes the desire of the real boy-king and there are plans afoot to sacrifice his parents to the gods. Ricky has to escape from the dungeon to save his family.
