Michelle Williams Speaks on Heath Ledger's Death For the First Time

Michelle Williams and Heath Ledger Michelle Williams stayed away from the press immediately following the accidental death of Heath Ledger back in 2008. She did interviews about her movies and her projects, but anything else was off limits in interviews.

Now, with the third anniversary of the event approaching in January, she has finally opened up about the subject.

Michelle says she can’t find any meaning in his death. Well, is that a surprise? It was an accidental overdose of prescription and over-the-counter drugs. Is there ever meaning, especially when a child is left behind?

The interview where Michelle finally talks in on Nightline. This is what she had to say via Radar Online:

The 30-year-old Blue Valntine star, whose 5-year-old daughter Matilda was born during her 3-year relationship with the late actor, said that a book she read during the year that followed Ledger’s death, Joan Didion's The Year of Magical Thinking, made it feasible to her that Ledger "could walk through a door or could appear behind a bush.

“It was a year of very magical thinking, and ... in some ways I'm sad to be moving further and further away from it," she said.

The former Dawson's Creek star said, "There's a line from a book that gave me so much comfort and it says, ‘When you've truly lost everything, then at least you can become rich in loss.’"

Now Michelle looks and seems much happier. And there are rumors she is secretly dating Ryan Gosling, however, that was the subject off-limits for this interview. Stay tuned, because we might see her and Ryan in the near future!
