'Mad Men' As a Reality Show? AMC Plans Two New Docu-Series

'Mad Men' As a Reality Show? AMC Plans Two New Docu-Series "Mad Men" has been so successful for AMC so far...why not turn it into a reality show?

AMC is planning two new docu-series, a move that is new for the network. The channel only started making original content a few years ago, and all of it so far has been scripted. These two reality shows will be uncharted territory for AMC.

So, what are these two mystery pilots? First up is "Inside DHS," which sounds like it's about kids in a Detroit High School but it's actually about the Department of Homeland Security (I guess that was too long to put in the title). The show will offer unparalleled access to the DHS, and producers of the show claim that they are working directly with Janet Napolitano.

The other series is called "The Pitch." This one will follow a set of creative ad agencies as they create new pitches, prepare for accounts, and work with clients. In essence, the show is a modern-day, reality show version of "Mad Men." Interestingly enough, though, those behind the show claim that it wasn't inspired by "Mad Men" at all...it's just a coincidence that both shows are on the same network.

AMC truly changed the game with their scripted series. Be it "Mad Men," "Breaking Bad," "The Walking Dead," or "The Killing," it seems the network can do no wrong (well, "Rubicon" didn't do too well). So the idea of AMC developing reality shows is interesting: will they provide a new take on the genre? Will these be the best reality shows ever created?

Judging by the subject matter, they're sure to be fascinating at least. What do you think? Do these new shows sound exciting, or totally boring?
