Regis Philbin's Next Move: A Reality Show About Going to the Eye Doctor

After what seems like forever (it's been 28 seasons), Regis Philbin is finally done with his morning talk show, the latest version of which was titled "Live with Regis and Kelly." So what's next for Philbin? How about a talk show about going to the eye doctor?

Okay, so the show isn't all about going to the eye doctor, but apparently that's what Philbin did in the pilot he shot.

"You know these reality shows?" said Philbin, "I would love to do a real reality show where Regis goes out." So in his pilot episode, a camera crew followed him to an eye exam and to an appearance on Craig Ferguson's show.

The everyday happenings in Philbin's life don't sound like they're too exciting, but hey, give the guy a break. He's 80 years old, he's not going to be fist pumping in the club every night like the "Jersey Shore" kids.

But Philbin is more concerned about another reality competitor: "I'm no Kim Kardashian," he admitted.

Although, there's something to be said for Philbin's ability to fill time with idle chatter. After all, he made a career out of it. This thing could actually be a gold mine in disguise: just film Regis Philbin all day and see what he says to fill the time. Something good has to come out of this.
