'Jersey Shore' Season 4: What We Know So Far

Season Four of Jersey Shore Season 3 of the wildly popular “Jersey Shore” wrapped up last night with some vital hanging questions: are Sammi and Ronnie really over? Are Roger and Jwoww going to be the only sane couple on the show? Will Snooki put away her “cooka” and run for President? These are the things that keep us up at night.

"Jersey Shorehas been the number one show watched on Yidio for many moons and has shattered records for cable shows this year, so we’ve gathered up every last tidbit we can find about what Season 4 will bring.

What We Know

Location: As MTV puts it, “America’s most talked about housemates are leaving the boardwalk behind for the piazzas of Italy.”

Yep, a cast full of folks who jokingly refers to themselves as Guidos and Guidettes are headed to the country of their heritage, where a show release tells us the cast is “excited to trade gorillas for Italian stallions.” Wonder how joking racial slurs strike the Italians? And does that include The Situation? Is he on the hunt for an Italian Stallion too? Don’t answer that, Angelina.

“While the stateside ‘Jersey Shore’ locales have become iconic for our audience it’s really the constantly evolving dynamic amongst the cast that keeps them coming back each season and Europe is a fresh spin on a show that continues to reach new heights for us,” said Chris Linn, Executive Vice President of Programming and Head of Production for MTV in a press release.

“The cast is headed to the birthplace of the culture they love and live by. We can’t wait to see what erupts as a result,”said Linn.

No word yet on specific locations, though TMZ reported “one source connected with the show says they've already lined up some of Vinny's Italian relatives to host the ‘Jersey’ crew for an authentic Guadagnino dinner.”

As you can see from the MTV video below, most of the cast (except for Vinny Guadagnino) knows next to no Italian (or simply can’t pronounce it well), so it should be interesting to see how they manage.

The Cast: “We're happy with our cast," said Sally Ann Salsano, co-creator of “Jersey Shore,” in a new Entertainment Weekly article, and she promises they won’t be adding any new cast members to the show.

That being said, Angelina Pivarnick left the show after the second season of the show due to “trust issues,” saying she considered most of her co-stars “fake,” but has been making her presence felt in the interwebs, saying of The Situation “I honestly feel like he's in the closet right now; he doesn't want to come out.”

Pivarnick recently tweeted "Italy this summer!!! Flights booked in full!!! Yahh!!! Can't wait!!! Xxoxoxo." So she’s either on the show, or getting ready to catch the draft off of “Jersey Shore” and chase them around in some sort of bizarre international stalking expedition. Either one sounds plausible.

The big drama will be around Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, who is applying for a pre-trial intervention program for an assault charge he gathered while filming an episode of the show. The program he’s applying for aims to help first-time offenders avoid jail time and a criminal record, thus eliminating the very real possibility that he may not be able to take part in the overseas filming.

The Show: "I’m not planning on changing the show at all, just changing location. Everybody can relate to the summer job," said show co-creator Salsano in the EW interview.

“I think it’s going to be fun. Just getting them there will be an entertaining thing to watch. I have fun watching them go to a grocery store in America. I think there everything will be fun. Communication will be funny. It’s a culture that they’re interested in, and I think it’s probably different than they think it is.”

In a recent MTV interview, Deena told the crowd that she was really hoping to “like, ride a gondola,” and Vinnie promised to show Italy “who the real players are.” Quite the ambitious agenda.

When They’re Back on the Air: Filming on the new season is reported to be starting in May of this year, and there’s no word on when it will return to the air, though MTV has said “later this year.”

Given that ratings indicate that we’re watching it as fast as the “Jersey Shore” cast can live it, my guess is the turnaround time from production to premiere will be pretty short. I’m guessing early fall.

In case you can’t wait that long, check out this video of something you’re bound to see a lot of next season – the “Jersey Shore” cast mutilating the beautiful Italian language:
