Your Super TV Holiday is Here! World: Meet Festi-Chrismu-kkah

Your Super TV Holiday is Here! World: Meet Festi-Chrismu-kkah If the standard green and red celebration doesn’t rock your jingle bell, thanks to TV magic and quirky creative minds, we are privy to plenty of unique seasonal ceremonies that spread cheer – or help us ignite the yearly dysfunction we call the holidays.

Today, amid “The Season,” we take a look at two of our TV favorites and propose the ultimate holiday hybrid: Festi-Chrismu-kkah!

As Seinfeld fans know, Festivus is the self-created holiday introduced in 1997 by Frank Costanza. In the episode, Costanza tells Kramer of his frustration with consumerism, linking the holiday back to a destroyed doll.

Chrismukkah, on the other hand, embraces the holiday spirit of buying-and-giving. Originating from the FOX’s O.C., Chrismukkah is the mixed-celebration of Christmas and Hanukkah created by Seth Cohen.

Both are brilliant on their own, but as we like to say when it comes to parties, more is more! So, like any good merry-maker, here’s a fourth step path to creating the ultimate mish mash:

1. Build your own Matzoh Bread House. For instructions, check out Chrismakkah.com.

2. Place said house near your Aluminum Festivus pole. As you recall, the pole is to oppose the commercialization of Christmas.

3. Raise poll above Matzoh Bread House and strike it with the strength of a Costanza.

4. Before you can say “Oy Humbug,” let's give this faux-holiday it’s own Festi-Chrismu-kkah miracle. This one is up to you. You can label any lame or forced occurrence, a Festi-Chrismu-kkah phenomenon. But if your lucky, just like Seth, you may get your very own Summer Roberts (Rachel Bilson) wrapped up in a Wonder Woman costume, too.

So raise a class of Meshugga Nog and let your “airing of grievances” begin!
