Tangled (Rapunzel) beats Harry Potter during the weekend box office showdown

The teen-wizard Harry Potter slides on the second spot with $16.7 million ticket sales this past weekend. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part one, had been number one in the box office for the past two weeks with teen-agers flocking the movie theaters to experience magic.

“Tangled” is expected to stay at the top of the box office as the holiday approaches. Families will definitely enjoy the story of Rapunzel (voiced by Mandy Moore) and Flynn Rider (voiced by Zachary Levi) in this adventurous, heart-warming and hilarious movie.

If you haven’t seen the movie yet, here’s the synopsis, When the kingdom’s most wanted bandit Fylnn Rider hides out in a mysterious tower, he was taken hostage by Rapunzel, a curious captor who was locked-away in the tower for years. She made a deal with the handsome thief for her ticket out and the unlikely duo sets-off on an action packed escapade, complete with a super cop horse, an over protective chameleon and a gruff gang of pub thugs.

Kids and adults alike will definitely love this movie. Everyone knows the tale about Rapunzel and her long golden hair. The story has been published in children’s storybooks many years ago until now. To see the princess character in a 3D animated film is an exciting experience for the whole family.

Although Hollywood analysts said that last weekend was the second worst weekend of the year, “Tangled” will continuously attract moviegoers this holiday season especially now that it is receiving positive ratings and high recommendations from people who have already seen the film.

Meanwhile, Denzel Washington’s runaway train thriller “Unstoppable” ranks no. 3, while Chistina Aguilera and Cher’s musical “Burlesque” ranked no. 4, Love and Other Drugs no. 5, Megamind no. 6, Due Date no. 7, Faster no. 8, The Warrior's Way no. 9 and The Next Three Days ranked no. 10 for the weekend of December 3rd box office ticket sales.
