Robert Downey Jr. is Hollywood's Top Earner

Forbes has released their annual list of highest-paid actors in Hollywood, and to no one’s great surprise, Robert Downey Jr. has topped the list.

Between June 2012 and June 2013, he has managed to bring in a ‘meager’ $75 million dollars. To put that into perspective, his latest films, “The Avengers” and “Iron Man 3” have brought in over $1 billion each.

Since Robert Downey Jr.’s return to sober Hollywood (following his rehab and relapse into the world of drugs), he has made a major name for himself thanks to the help of Marvel and the Iron Man series. Studios are clamoring to hire him into their latest projects, and, thanks to his $75 million dollar price tag, he can afford to be meticulous.

Second on the list was Channing Tatum, pulling in $60 million, likely from his roles in “21 Jump Street” and “Magic Mike” (and perhaps even “G.I. Joe: Retaliation”, but that’s less likely.)

Third was Hugh Jackman, earning $55 million, probably in thanks, again, to Marvel and the “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and “X-Men” franchises. He also had the critically acclaimed “Les Miserables” under his belt.

Finishing the list was Mark Wahlberg with $52 million (thanks to “Ted”), Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson at $46 million (with the help of “The Fast and the Furious 6”), Leonardo DiCaprio with $39 million (“Django Unchained” and “The Great Gatsby”), Adam Sandler at $37 million (“Grown Ups 2”), Tom Cruise with $35 million (“Jack Reacher”), Denzel Washington earning $33 million (“Flight”), and Liam Neeson tottering in at $32 million (“Taken 2”).
