Who is the Number 1 Choice to Play Christian in the '50 Shades of Grey' adaptation?

Are you sitting down for this?

The husband of “50 Shades of Grey” author E.L. James is confirming that “last he heard,” one certain super-hot actor was the top choice to play the lead in the upcoming adaptation.

So who is the man?

31-year-old delicious “Drive” star Ryan Gosling, a man who women love so much that recently a Gosling-inspired coloring book hit the market.

Reps for Gosling have not yet had a response to the rumors that he will be stepping in to be playing the smoldering, S & M-loving Grey, but if talk like this is flying around that’ll probably be a statement soon to come.

So what do you think, would Gosling take the role? And if he would, would he embody the character to your satisfaction, Grey fans?

“Vampire Diaries” star Ian Somerhalder, remember, has openly expressed an interest in the role, saying “I would absolutely be up for that. Absolutely. That would be an incredible thing. And hopefully that could pan out, I think.”

Many other actors have been in the gossip about casting, as well, including

E! notes that Mrs. E.L. James, also known as Niall Leonard, has denied that his wife based the Grey character on him.

“I’m glad I’m not him because he’s actually damaged,” he said. “I wouldn’t have liked to go through what he went through.”

So if Gosling is stepping in as Christian Grey… or at least potentially… who would be the perfect Anastasia Steele to go alongside the intense, low-talking actor?

Perhaps fan favorite, Emilia Clarke?
