'New Normal,' 'Go On' and 'Revolution' Get Full-Season Orders
by Andy NeuenschwanderFor the first time in a long time, NBC won the big premiere week in terms of ratings, and it's partly thanks to a new slate of shows with some promise. It's also partly thanks to the marketing barrage for said shows during the summer Olympics, but let's give some credit to the shows, shall we?
So if you have been watching and enjoying "The New Normal," "Go On" and "Revolution," here's some good news for you: all three of them have received a full season order from NBC. That means the shows will continue to produce episodes, which will air through to spring 2013.
"Go On" stars Matthew Perry and received a direct boost from the Olympics when a preview of the pilot episode aired during the games. "Animal Practice" had a similar premiere, but doesn't look to have received the same boost, and might not be renewed.
"Revolution" is NBC's biggest new show, pulling in solid numbers a few weeks in. The show is set in a future where all electronics have stopped working, and is following the "Lost" playbook in terms of introducing mysteries.
As for "The New Normal," the comedy from Ryan Murphy is enjoying support from Murphy's "Glee" fan base. Knowing what we do about Murphy's upcoming schedule, though, you have to wonder how much attention he will be able to continue to give the show.
