Meet the New 'Celebrity Rehab' Cast
by Scott NyeThe fifth season of "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" premieres Sunday, June 26th and 9:00, so VH1 figured it was about time people see what (and who) they're in store for.
For those who don't know (hey, it's possible), "Celebrity Rehab" follows the grueling 21-day rehabilitation program at the Pasadena Recovery Center. It's lead by the people who really work there, and as the title indicates, the show exclusively follows the treatment of celebrities. Now, granted, we're not talking about Lindsay Lohan-level celebs, and sometimes the show acts as a publicity platform for former stars who have nowhere else to turn to, but they always manage to land a few people recognizable to anyone familiar with their pop culture.
So who will take the treatment this year?
Michael Lohan - Well, if you can't land Lindsay, go for her dad, I suppose. Besides being Lindsay's father, Michael is notable for spending time a surprising amount of time in prison with charges ranging from insider trading, contempt of court, violating his probation, aggrevated assault, and drunk driving. He also wrote one of the worst songs you will ever hear.
Steven Adler - Former Guns N' Roses drummer and star of "Celebrity Rehab 2." Wouldn't it be better for the show to just hide their failures? Especially since this is a guy who suffered a stroke and went into a coma due to drugs. In 1996. Sometimes people really are lost causes.
Amy Fischer - A true American success story, Fischer attained national fame when, at 17, she shot and severely wounded Mary Jo Buttafucco, who had the indecency to be married to her lover, Joey Buttafucco. She served seven years in prison, and upon release got a book deal and a job as a journalist. Later, her husband sold a video of them having sex, and rather than fight it, she embraced it and became a porn star and stripper.
Dwight Gooden - A former pitcher best known for his ten-year stint with the New York Mets. Since his MLB career ended in 2001, he's had multiple run-ins with the law surrounding drugs and alcohol.
Jeremy Jackson - Still best known for playing Hobie Buchannon on "Baywatch," Jackson has had his share of drug-related trouble over the years, and currently makes his way promoting clubs and endorsing Ed Hardy clothing.
Bai Ling - "Lost" fans will know her as the woman Jack meets in Thailand in "Stranger in a Strange Land," widely regarded as the worst episode of the show. Her star rose in 1994 when she appeared in "The Crow," and lately she's been famous for just being an all-around strange person.
Sean Young - Sean Young is famous for two things: Giving good performances in geek-friendly movies like "Blade Runner" and "Dune," and dressing up in a homemade Catwoman outfit, storming Warner Brothers, and demanding the role in "Batman Returns." She checked into rehab once before after heckling Julian Schnabel at the Directors Guild awards in 2008.
Another year, another batch of winners.
